I don't think it is.The map shows you the range of the towers and whats their focus target.Also you can move more easily through trees.

Every experienced player knows what's the towers range and how towers aggro works... I think it's legal since it's useless for most of us in these rooms

disagree in the last point.
generally: the dota map was custom modet to show the one user things like towers range,towers target and cooldown in numbers.
in fact thats kinda an advantage vs users with normal map,and in this case it is illegal!
especially the CD in numbers isnt fair i think,same for towers target seeing.

lets pretend a lil scenarion:
you are playing solo lane at a tower cause u get pushed.2-3 heroes come to gank you.
Scenario 1: they getting targeted by the tower,getting 2-3 hits,are low on hp and u can even maybe kill 1 of them!
Scenraio 2 (with custom map),they see the towers target,abort the gank...

and for the range: of course nearly all players know the towers range,BUT u dont see the exact range in fights for like 1-2 units.and thats a really big advantage vs other players,especially in ganks and stuff!

so in my oponion: no its not allowed,and if you arent a gay ass mofo,you play normal version!
