| Subject: How to post a correct unban request Mon Aug 16, 2010 6:59 pm | |
| Subject:The subject of your unban request should be as follows: - Code:
-
unban username Where you replace username with your username or the username of the user you are posting the unban request on behalf of. What to include in your unban request:
- The link to the banrequest on you. (You can find it by using the search function and enter your username as the search word)
- Description of what happened
- Evidence to support your story
What type of evidence you need:
- In addition to the things that follow, you should ALWAYS provide the replay.
- If you disconnect, you should provide a screenshot of the "you have been disconnected" message.
- If your Garena crashed and Warcraft III did not automatically shut down you should provide a screenshot of the "you have been disconnected" message.
- If your Garena crashed and Warcreaft III automatically shut down you should provide a screenshot of the error message where you have opened the time & date display (if using Windows), or in any other way proved when the screenshot was taken.
- If your Warcraft III crashed, you should provide a screenshot of the error message where Garena is open in the background so that we can see which room you were in and that the screenshot was really taken by you.
- If you were banned for afking you should provide the replay.
- If you were banned for remaking/leaving a game according to rule #11 you must provide the replay.
- If you were banned for leaving a game in which at least one of the teams had less than four players, you must present the replay, unless the game status can clearly be seen in the scoreboard of the screenshot in the banrequest, in that case you do not need to provide any evidence at all.
- If your computer rebooted or if you had a power failure so that you could not save any evidence and weren't able to get the replay from any of the other players in the game, or if you for some other reason aren't able to provide any evidenc at all, you should put extra much energy in motivating why you should be unbanned. If you cannot present any evidence, only a good explanation together with an almost perfectly clean banhistory will get you unbanned.
- See rule #13 for more thorough descriptions of what evidence we require!
Uploading your evidence:
- Preferably you should use the forum attachment function.
- Do not use the insert function on replays, and do not use spaces in the filename of replays, those things will make the replay analyzer malfunction.
- Sometimes the attachment function is out of order, and sometimes the filesize of the file you wish to upload is too big, in that case you can use an external site.
- For replays, use http://replay.garena.com and post the link to the replay in the banrequest.
- For screenshots, use http://tinypic.com or http://imageshack.us and encase the direct link to the image with img tags, like this:
- Code:
-
[img]http://i45.tinypic.com/iom29u.jpg[/img] Please use img tags, it saves us valuable time! Some things to keep in mind:
- We do not normally like when a user posts an unban request on behalf of another user, but it is acceptable to do that if you tell us a very good reason for doing so, for example if the user cannot write in English or cannot access the forum. "The user does not know how to post a correct unban request" is NOT considered a valid reason!
- If you write on behalf of another user, ask that user what he wants to say and quote it, rather than posting in your own words why you think the user should be unbanned. We want to hear the story as told by the user who was in the game himself.
- Do not put reading access on the unban request! Everyone must be able to see how your case is judged so they can see that all unban requests are treated equally.
- It is unnecessary to ask your friends to write "support" in your unban request, such comments will be disregarded entirely. The exception is if the users who support you were in the game themselves, then supports may affect the decision.
- Do not edit your screenshots or other editable evidence in any way whatsoever! If we suspect the evidence has been tampered with we will not unban you, even if you just did something innocent like cropping a small part of a screenshot because the filesize was too big. If the filesize is too big to upload on the forum, use an external site as described above!
- If you did not find any banrequest on you using the search function that means you were not banned by a EHLR moderator, but by an abuser. In that case you do not need to make an official unban request. You can ask any EHLR moderator of that particular room to unban you. If you aren't able to get hold of someone you are of course very welcome to post an unban request. Make sure to mention which room(s) you were banned in!
- We in the Europe staff only moderate the Europe DotA High Level Rooms and the Europe DotA High Level Room League. If you were banned in another room, do not post an unban request here!
- If you were banned in a moderated room other than one of the Europe DotA High Level Rooms, you must post an unban request in their unban requests section.
- If you were banned in the Europe DotA High Level League you can post your unban request here. Remember to read their unban request guide.
